Forehand smash insufficient knee extension
When the hip–knee–ankle angle at contact falls below about 160°, Badmi flags insufficient knee extension. That reflects visible pose extension, not ground-force measurement or injury assessment.

Insufficient knee extension means the knee stays too bent at contact. Badmi only reads a pose angle; it does not measure ground reaction force or jump height.
How the system decides
- Metric code: knee_extension.
- Issue code: insufficient_knee_extension.
- Trigger: knee extension below about 160°.
- Detail: knees stay too bent at contact; the legs do not extend enough.
Practice focus
- Drive upward through contact instead of letting the legs stay loaded while the arm swings alone.
- Review the contact frame from the side and check hip–knee–ankle extension.
- If the subject is too small in frame, fix framing before trusting knee angle.
